We’re excited to announce a partnership that will allow us to bring a fully equipped mobile dental clinic to communities near us that need our help.We never realized how much difference one van could make, but we’re learning. Our team will be delivering our top-notch, gentle dental services to children in our community who currently can’t get dental care. For many people, our new van is their first opportunity to get regular, reliable dental treatments for their children.
At Kids Tooth Team, we specialize in gentle, compassionate care. That commitment to caring extends to every single child in our community, not just the ones who can afford it. That’s why we have started our own 501C3 not-for-profit foundation called Kids Tooth Team Outreach.
As pediatric dentists, we know how important early care is. All too often, people in some Texas communities don’t have access to dental care or the means to pay for it. As a result, their children experience serious oral health problems that are entirely preventable. Through a collaboration with St Davids Foundation, one of the largest providers of free dental care in the nation, our foundation has been granted a fully equipped 42’ mobile dental clinic.

It’s hard to imagine a child who is in pain because of a dental condition not being able to access a quality dentist. However, that exact situation is commonplace in our rural and exurban communities right here in Texas. In a 2017 analysis, Texas ranked 44th for rural access to dental care” (Vital Record, Texas A&M August 29, 2016)
We want to change that. We saw a way to help, and with a van generously donated by St. David’s, we are taking our dental services on the road. With our dental van, we can offer dental checkups, fluoride treatments, fillings, preventive care and more. Our fully equipped van will become a dental home for these families and their children.
Oral Health Equity Matters and Committed to Our Community sections are perfect.
This year, the Texas House of Delegates passed an oral health equity resolution. It calls for Texas to make oral health equity as important as general health equity. As dental professionals, we couldn’t agree more with this resolution. Dental health that starts at a young age leads to better oral health for life. A key part of that is what dentists call a “dental home” for all patients.
Many patients in our area live more than an hour’s drive from the nearest dentist. These families have limited time and financial resources to find a dental home. Our van changes that by bringing the dentist to them.
Commitment to our community has been a core value since we founded our dental practice. We appreciate the support of our patients and neighbors, and we can’t wait to give you something back. Look for our mobile dental van on the roads! When you see it drive by, we hope you remember how much a van can mean.
